The Chapel in Harrogate has won the award for Best Picture-Perfect B&B in the finals of the 2018 Global Style Awards.
The winner was one of three finalists, which included Mill House B&B in rural Lancashire and Greyfield Inn in Cumberland Island off the coast of the US state of Georgia.
The awards feature the most stylish B&Bs, hotels, restaurant, bars and spas. For the first time this year entrants for the annual Vision Style Awards, run by Vision Support Services, came from all over the world, as compared with Europe as per last year, and the UK alone in previous events.
The Chapel is a grade II listed conversion property sympathetically restored five years ago to provide a distinctive historic and contemporary boutique B&B in the heart of Harrogate. Owner Mark Hinchliffe, a lifelong collector of artefacts from around the world, bought the Grade II listed church in 2013 and converted it to a residential guest house.
The property will feature as one of the new set of contenders in the current series of Four in a Bed on Channel Four, running for five episodes from Monday 5 November. The Chapel is featured in the edition on Thursday 8 November. Hinchliffe said: “The way it all unfolds is truly like a Shakespearean play.”
