Please send us your questions – we might be able to help

Please submit all questions via out online FORUM.

We’re in a very fortunate position here at Luxury BnB in knowing and working with many industry experts. We always find these experts are very happy to offer advice and knowledge and this is particularly so in these difficult times.

So please send in your questions and we’ll see who we know who can help. You can do this via all the channels – emailing web@luxurybbmag.co.uk OR via Social media – Facebook or Twitter. And here is an example:

Q.

You say any small business like a B&B can apply for a cash grant. Most B&Bs are 3 bedrooms or less, and do not pay rateable value council tax. We have three bedrooms, but I cannot find out if we can apply. Please can you help?

Poppy Cooksey, Uplands House.

We reached out to our finance expert, Matt Bryant, zigzagca.com:

A.

As B&Bs fall into the hospitality sector then they are automatically able to claim Business Rates Relief even if they don’t pay business rates.
If the rateable value is between 15k and 51k then they ate able to obtain a grant of £25k from the Local Authority, if the rateable value is less than 15k then they qualify for the 10k grant.
To apply for these  you need to go to your local authorities web site and apply on line.
We are seeing that each authority has slightly different questions for you to answer.
Hope this helps clarify this position.
Please feel free to email me with any other concerns your readers have, such as the Job Retention Scheme for employees and the relief available for the self employed businesses.
